Do pros hit every shot solid?

I like to help my students manage expectations. If you put too much pressure on your results, you will create tension that may hurt your path or face control. Here's a good video put out from the European tour of bad shots from last year. Focus on the process. Keep improving month to month and you'll enjoy better shots consistently. Just don't think you'll never hit another bad shot again ;)

PS - Notice how many of theme were chunked chip shots?

+Tyler F Any thoughts on why so many of those shots were short finesse wedge shots? I just recently watched your video on analyzing how the pros use the bounce, could it just be lie variation that makes it tough to avoid the fat shots? Could it be more of a common technique issue?

Good to see they are indeed human. Thomas hitting fat shots and Reed putts on 18 in Hawaii just add to all this of course. Get those short chips right for sure. 👍

+Jeremy P My guess is that if you were to look at the situations it was into the grain. Uphill slopes, slightly wet, into the grain, really tight lies, or extra sandy soil can all make it less forgiving if you try and use the bounce. We even saw Justin Rose in that compilation, and he's one of the best with wedges over the last 5 years!
