Kids Golf

Hello,
and warm greetings from Austria (Europe).
I am addicted to golf but my two daughters (10, 12) do not share my passion. I admit i am a lousy teacher.
I think for my older one the cat is already out of the bag.
Need help - thanks a lot.

Hi Clara,

I think the most important thing for kids is giving them opportunities and keeping it fun. Make sure you play from an appropriate distance so that they get to practice all aspects of the game. Playing a 400 yard whole when you only hit it 100 yards isn't a lot of fun.

Also, avoid getting too technical. Most members of this site love knowing the details, but not every kid does. Instead, I'd focus on general concepts and skill games. Low point games, face spray games and curve games are fun to play with.

If you are a lousy coach :), I would recommend trying find a coach in your area. I hope this gives you a couple ideas.

Hi Tyler,
thank you very much for your thoughts. I will certainly give it a try, and find a suitable pro in my area.
