Deep Divots

Sup Tyler

I struggle with too deep divots and occationally slightly duffed iron shots. My miss is a steep pull hook. But when I’m swinging good I hit a tight draw starting just right of my target. What are your thoughts? I’ll get you a FO view soon. My target in this video is the small gray building and I was focusing on starting it right of my target.

Typically, deep divots require a few factors. Either the body has lowered so that the depth of the swing is too low compared to the golf ball, or the arms have pulled in while lengthening through impact. If you look at the example pictures I posted, Matt Wolff would have the greatest chance for a deep divot. So simply put, you'd have to stay a little taller with the upper body and have more ulnar deviation to form a straighter arm system at impact. But, a face on video might reveal something we're missing from just the dtl.

PS - pulling the arms in will also likely cause the toe hits.

Let me know if you have any questions about it,

Happy Golfing,
Tyler
