There are a couple of ways to approach the shank. From a skill standpoint, you are swinging the weight of the club too far away from you. Sometimes, all you need is a little block or tees in the way to recalibrate. Try these to improve the skill.

From a technique standpoint, you are moving closer to the ball during your swing. Here are some line to show you at set up and then where you are at impact. This happens because you're shifting your weight into your toes during the swing. You can see in the close up after impact that your heel is actually off the ground.
I'd start there. If you can't make solid contact with your wedges, then working on "touch" is almost impossible.
