Early Extension Late is Gone - But Still Steep?

  By: Ed C on Oct. 28, 2020, 7:09 p.m.

I've been working to eliminate early extension late in the downswing with driver. (getting back to the pre-covid plan)

We had determined I was early extending late because my arms were steep, so I have been working on arm shallowing in transition (zorro loops, etc).

It seems like my early extension late pattern has gone away, but my downswing looks just as steep as before? I'm still working up to a ball but right now but am confused what to work on because I had expected to see early extension go away with more arm shallowing showing up on video...

Thanks,

- Ed

Ed,

Welcome back to the plan. As a regroup, I'd say more pressing than the path in transition is the alignment of the shaft at impact. That's WAY too much shaft lean for a driver. BUT, the clubface is square, so it means that you'll have to recalibrate your face to a more vertical shaft. See the pictures below.

That said, the transition is a little steep. It looks like the arms don't have enough swallowing. But I would pivot focus and address the impact alignments first.
