Force on the grip

Do you have any thoughts on how one could achieve force on the grip longer as Jason Zuback demonstrates here without getting into an arm pulldown pattern. I was able to increase clubhead speed doing this, but wasn’t sure I could do it without being detrimental to technique, specifically an arm pull down. There appear to be numerous examples of players in various locations advocating raising the COG to load power. Does this promote an arm dominant transition in your opinion or are there ways to do it with the body. What do you think of throwing the medicine ball beside the trail foot as a drill?
Thanks

Hi Mark,

Yes, I do think in general long drivers tend to have a little bit more of an arm pull pattern. It can help with speed, but often sacrifices consistency and low-point control.

That said, I think you can do it with the body by emphasizing more of the stretch of the right side by getting the right hip and right shoulder to feel higher at the top, not just raising the arms high.

I think throwing the medicine behind the trail foot can help with an impulse of arm and core muscles early, but I think it should be used with caution with golfers who tend to fall into too much of a lat or tricep dominant arm pull pattern.
