I've been working on improving my downward strike on my irons. When I get on a trackman I average around 1-2 degrees down and I can't find a good feel to hit more down or move the low point forward. When I shift my weight more aggressively to the lead foot, it seems like I just end up leaving my hands further behind. I can force more shaft lean if I hold off the release but it doesn't seem to influence the attack angle reliably. Also interested in any other pointers you might suggest looking at the swing. My misses tend to be pulls left, fat shots, and contact towards the heel. Thanks!

When it comes to AOA and solid strikes, I usually start with the impact line. https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/training-your-low-point-line/

You'll see that while you get your body stacked up pretty well (So I don't think you need to work on shifting your weight faster), and rotated, your arm action biases the club to hit up on the ball. So I think your issue is more related to your arm release pattern. I would almost always start with the single arm releases to check and see which arm is contributing the most to the pattern. https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/single-arm-releases-with-a-club/ Feel free to try them, and post them here if you want guidance.

Visually it looks more like a right arm issue, but often times release training involves looking at each arm, as well as the shoulder blades. Your miss pattern fits the arm pattern though. With your arm pattern, left, fat/thin, and heel are all likely possibilities. So next step is to break down the arms into the single arm drills to help us see the real cause. Good luck!
