Hi GSA team,

I’ve been watching your videos for sometime, thank you for putting all these resources up its been greatly improving my golf!

Have a question about how I can get more stability and balance during my downswing. I just got an ankle injury recently due to my golf swing as it looks like my lead feet/leg spins out post impact and i feel myself unstable post release whenever I try to draw power from my lower body(and during this particular session I may have overdid how much power I was trying to draw from my legs). I’ve posted some of my swing videos below and would appreciate all the feedback all I can get(on any part of my swing) and any advice to help me ground that left feet more post-impact and not spin-out, thanks!

Hi Albert,

Great timing of your question. I actually just posted a video relating to this topic. https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/firm-lead-foot/

In the first picture, it looks like you've already lost the big toe connection and moved into the ankle. Oftentimes, this can happen when you're rotating and pushing hard but not getting enough vertical movement from the core. This is a tricky change, so I would probably start by working on the foot stability. But if you do want to go after the core component, then look at the video clip below too. In the video clip, you'll see that your spine doesn't really change (no real ab crunch or turtle shell) during the release. So you more or less throw your pelvis with you legs and back and it's "caught" by the ankle. Your upper body rotates well, so there's no stall, but your hips and pelvis seem to move as one block.

Here are a couple of other videos that might help.
