Tyler

Your videos on lead shoulder down in transition has helped me. Wanted your opinion on what's missing in the swing below. Am I over doing the move?

Also, regarding the chicken wing I play with a strong grip and when I strike the ball my ulnar bone (not my wrist watch ) are facing the ball at impact. So the chicken wing and wrist extension absorb the speed. I think the biggest reason for the chicken wing is the trail down shoulder doesn't get down and forward enough so my arm folds to remain on the club

Sorry for the delay, been moving into a new house and haven't had as much time.

I actually like your lead shoulder down in transition. I'd be curious to see what happens if you think about getting your lower body to lead the downswing a little more and try to get the hips a little more open. The key would be making sure the shoulders didn't go with them. I think you might have to monitor it because some golfers think "turn my hips" and what actually happens is they turn the shoulders and hit steep pulls. I think part of your chicken wing issue is that your hips aren't open enough at impact, so the arms pass the body too soon, which causes them to bend.

I think improving the chicken wing is a good goal, but based on the timing of the chicken wing, I don't think the chicken wing is severe. Have you tried any forced open hip drills like the side saddle 9-3?

Your trail single arm drills seem to also get rid of the chicken wing. Being right handed and a lefty golfer I've become too lead arm dominant. When I focus on applying a pushing force through impact with the trail hand it gets my trail shoulder more down and forward which allows the body to open and no chicken wing. So the question becomes do I play golf this way because it feels weird applying pushing force with the trail arm
