Can you discuss blending Ulner deviation and arm extension in the follow thru? When does the club head pass the hands in relation to these movements ?

Hi Ron,

I don't think Jake checks this forum anymore, he moved on to doing his own thing a few years back. But I can tackle the question.

The arm extension and ulnar deviation can max out at different times, with the trail arm maxing out slightly earlier. This isn't something you have to focus on consciously, just something that occurs because of the split hand grip on the club. The trail hand typically reaches maximum elbow extension and ulnar deviation close to follow-through position (P8). See the attached photo of Grant Waite and when he reaches his maximum straightness. With short irons, this is usually closer to impact, but still not before it. A lot of amateurs with scoops and chicken wings reach their maximum before impact.
