Swing plane

We’ve all seen swing plane stations where the golfer stands in a hole and the shaft rubs along a board or large tube creating the swing plane. In Visualized The Rotational Wipe Tyler is rotating the hoolah hoop around his body and NOT on a straight plane. Which is correct?

Ron,

The club and shaft pretty much follow a planar movement from waist height to waist height. The idea of the wipe is more about moving the center of the swing forward. So the plane board your describing does not have the ball at the center of it. Also, the bottom of the swing is not in the middle of the body, and not circular (it's flattish down at the bottom). So the plane board can be useful, but only on half swings and if you aren't making the club bottom out in the middle of the body but rather up by the left foot. I hope that helps clear things up!
