Follow Through Drill Circuit

In this drill circuit video, I walk you through a simple series of drills to help you chuck the pieces of the follow through position into one pattern.

  1. Merry Go Round with Arms
  2. Check Swing Progressions
  3. Hinge and Hold
  4. Right Foot Roll

00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:05,000
In this drill circuit video, we're going to go over the follow-through position.

00:00:05,000 --> 00:00:09,000
So we're going to run through some of these drills that are in the follow-through section.

00:00:09,000 --> 00:00:14,000
But again, this is just an example of ways that you can organize them, but this is one

00:00:14,000 --> 00:00:16,000
of my favorite circuits.

00:00:16,000 --> 00:00:21,000
So remembering follow-through position is somewhere out here where the club's parallel

00:00:21,000 --> 00:00:24,000
pointed at the target somewhere out in there.

00:00:24,000 --> 00:00:26,000
Okay, how are we going to practice that?

00:00:26,000 --> 00:00:27,000
First piece.

00:00:27,000 --> 00:00:29,000
We're going to set up to a golf ball.

00:00:29,000 --> 00:00:32,000
We're going to do the merry-go-round.

00:00:32,000 --> 00:00:36,000
But this time we're going to do the merry-go-round with the arms going to follow-through

00:00:36,000 --> 00:00:37,000
position.

00:00:37,000 --> 00:00:40,000
So we're just going to practice that arm to follow-through position.

00:00:40,000 --> 00:00:41,000
Kind of something.

00:00:41,000 --> 00:00:42,000
There we go.

00:00:42,000 --> 00:00:44,000
That was pretty good.

00:00:44,000 --> 00:00:47,000
Next one we're going to do is the check swing progression.

00:00:47,000 --> 00:00:52,000
So I'm going to swing, trying to get that same feeling of going through to that follow-through

00:00:52,000 --> 00:00:53,000
position.

00:00:53,000 --> 00:00:58,000
Paying attention to something just because I'm a feel-related golfer.

00:00:58,000 --> 00:01:02,000
So now I'm going to start working that down towards the golf ball just like so.

00:01:02,000 --> 00:01:07,000
I think on this next one, yeah, I didn't measure the distance right, but we can check that

00:01:07,000 --> 00:01:08,000
again.

00:01:08,000 --> 00:01:15,000
Remember, I'm not too worried in these movement-based drills if I hit solid contact, but

00:01:15,000 --> 00:01:22,000
check swing, check swing, check swing, check swing, that was a little better.

00:01:22,000 --> 00:01:30,000
Okay, so then we've got the hinge and hold, which is trying to recreate that same feeling

00:01:30,000 --> 00:01:37,000
over here where the club is still pointed outside of me instead of flipping.

00:01:37,000 --> 00:01:40,000
So if I check that, yep, that looks pretty good.

00:01:40,000 --> 00:01:46,000
Let's do it again.

00:01:46,000 --> 00:02:00,000
And then the last little piece I'm going to add to this is focusing on that right foot

00:02:00,000 --> 00:02:04,000
rolling as opposed to coming up because I can feel that mine's coming up a little bit.

00:02:04,000 --> 00:02:09,000
So going back to that check swing, so we're going here.

00:02:09,000 --> 00:02:20,000
There's a little better roll of the foot just like so.

00:02:20,000 --> 00:02:24,000
And you'll notice I did the best job with rolling the foot and of those I hit that the

00:02:24,000 --> 00:02:26,000
solid or the most solid.

00:02:26,000 --> 00:02:31,000
So that gives me a great little piece to learn off of and I can run through this half

00:02:31,000 --> 00:02:36,000
a dozen times, the dozen times before I move into random practice, before I move into playing

00:02:36,000 --> 00:02:36,000
games.
