Keys To Transition

00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:04,000
This video is my view of the transition.
00:00:04,000 --> 00:00:10,000
So we're going to go through a couple of these transition moves so that you can see what it looks like from my perspective.
00:00:10,000 --> 00:00:15,000
So first one we're going to do is the no club we're going to do the drop then white.
00:00:15,000 --> 00:00:23,000
So basically what you'll see is from the top of the swing this radar is going to connect to my body and then work across.
00:00:23,000 --> 00:00:26,000
So it's going to connect to my body and then work across.
00:00:26,000 --> 00:00:30,000
From the down the line view it's going to connect to my body and then work across.
00:00:30,000 --> 00:00:35,000
I call that kind of the drop or the fall where it connects back to my body and then works across.
00:00:35,000 --> 00:00:38,000
With the club, we'll show a couple different directions.
00:00:38,000 --> 00:00:45,000
So with the club it's going to connect to my body and then work across as it goes into that release.
00:00:45,000 --> 00:00:50,000
So we're going to connect to my body and then work across.
00:00:50,000 --> 00:00:54,000
Connect and then work across.
00:00:54,000 --> 00:00:57,000
What a lot of players do.
00:00:57,000 --> 00:01:00,000
Is it connecting to their body and then working across?
00:01:00,000 --> 00:01:04,000
Is that right arm just extends out towards the golf ball just like so.
00:01:04,000 --> 00:01:09,000
With the club in my hand that would basically look like this.
00:01:09,000 --> 00:01:14,000
As opposed to connect to my body and then work across.
00:01:14,000 --> 00:01:19,000
You can see the subtle difference in the arm movement produces a pretty big difference from this face on camera view.
00:01:19,000 --> 00:01:23,000
So next one we're going to look at is the downverse out.
00:01:23,000 --> 00:01:26,000
So if I go up to the top of the swing.
00:01:26,000 --> 00:01:37,000
I talk about how if I pull my arms straight down that tends to get the shaft to actually tip vertically or towards the golf ball kind of like so.
00:01:37,000 --> 00:01:41,000
If my hands feel like they work more out.
00:01:41,000 --> 00:01:46,000
Like so you'll see that that's a big change from my perspective.
00:01:46,000 --> 00:01:50,000
But from the down the line camera it's not going to look like it does too much.
00:01:50,000 --> 00:01:57,000
But what that does is if my hands work more out that causes the shaft to flatten which combined with my body rotation.
00:01:57,000 --> 00:02:04,000
It's what helps kind of deliver that look of the club being on plane as opposed to being a little bit steeper overplay.
00:02:04,000 --> 00:02:06,000
So the next one we're going to do is the handle and the bucket.
00:02:06,000 --> 00:02:16,000
So I've got my stick here at about 30 degrees and instead of grabbing the bucket just because I forgot to grab an extra one and I want you to see the versatility of the drill.
00:02:16,000 --> 00:02:20,000
So basically just got that alignment rod out of about a 30 degree angle out like so.
00:02:20,000 --> 00:02:27,000
So now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go up to the top of my swing and during transition and you'll see how quickly transition happens.
00:02:27,000 --> 00:02:34,000
All this stuff is happening before I get the club about you know past my waist.
00:02:34,000 --> 00:02:40,000
So you'll see that's pointing there before I start turning down and going through the release.
00:02:40,000 --> 00:02:43,000
So we'll do that again.
00:02:44,000 --> 00:02:55,000
So set up position we're going to get that handle in the bucket just kind of like so and then we'd practice going down through the release with any of those release drills.
00:02:55,000 --> 00:03:03,000
So this gives you a few different ways that you can see what I'm talking about when I describe the movements and how they look when I do them in transition.
