00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:08,000
This drill is right hip pocket into left hip pocket and this is a visual drill for those of you that struggle with the sway pattern.
00:00:08,000 --> 00:00:19,000
Though you may not be aware of it, when you say your pelvis is shifting laterally to the right, when you make a backswing and your weight is going to the outside of your foot.
00:00:20,000 --> 00:00:28,000
As you can see, my hip ends up kind of my right hip pocket ends up going back into the right.
00:00:28,000 --> 00:00:39,000
So in order for it to stay put, what you are going to have to feel is that your right hip pocket as you go into the backswing is actually going to switch places and go to where that left hip pocket is.
00:00:40,000 --> 00:00:53,000
Now, it's not actually going to do that, but this is an exaggeration drill to give you the imagery of what it would be like to make your pivot without having it sway too much into the right.
00:00:53,000 --> 00:01:03,000
So again, you're just going to imagine your right hip pocket is going to turn to where your left hip pocket would be, and you can use a shaft or a wall for feedback there.
00:01:03,000 --> 00:01:12,000
But it's mostly an imagery and a visual drill to help you overcome kind of the mental barrier of where your hip needs to be at the top of the swing.
