That is a great question, going to have to think on it a bit... On video, when I see my right leg straightening like that, it appears to be related to my glutes firing and causing my hips to slightly elevate and move toward the ball instea…

From what I am learning from the GSA... The unhinge helps to shallow your swing path down near impact which helps you to hit the center of the club face more consistently. One of the major keys to accuracy.
