As described in the concept video, the right arm does a fold and a rotation. But it’s best if you can trail those movements into 1 movement. The right arm movement has been described a variety of ways. Some of my favorites are the jazzy jeff move “psshh”, throwing a salt shaker over your shoulder ala dumb and dumber, or the famous one of carrying a tray like a waiter.

00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:06,000
So this is the right arm jazzy Jeff move and this is what we'll use to complete the
00:00:06,000 --> 00:00:10,000
backswing after you've done your takeaway. So if you remember the one piece takeaway
00:00:10,000 --> 00:00:15,000
we're basically getting into this position here. Now the right arm jazzy Jeff move is
00:00:15,000 --> 00:00:20,000
doing basically what the arms will do from this position here, right? This
00:00:20,000 --> 00:00:25,000
takeaway position to the top of the swing and what's going to happen is the right arm is
00:00:25,000 --> 00:00:30,000
going to hinge and it's going to rotate just slightly. So you know one of my favorite
00:00:30,000 --> 00:00:34,000
shows growing up was the fresh prince of L.A.R. and they would always do the high five
00:00:34,000 --> 00:00:39,000
well that movement right there is pretty much what we want that right arm to do when we
00:00:39,000 --> 00:00:44,000
complete the backswing. So I'll show it again. So the right arm is going to hinge.
00:00:44,000 --> 00:00:50,000
The right arm is going to rotate slightly and it can the hand can move outside of the
00:00:50,000 --> 00:00:54,000
framework of your body. I just don't want that elbow to be moving out behind your body like
00:00:54,000 --> 00:01:00,000
so. You want to keep it roughly in front of the shoulder and the the depth is going
00:01:00,000 --> 00:01:06,000
to come mostly from turning your body. So you can practice just doing the arm position
00:01:06,000 --> 00:01:11,000
in the jazzy Jeff move by going from here keeping this left arm relatively straight
00:01:11,000 --> 00:01:16,000
and letting it hinge up just like so. And you'll notice that when I'm up here there's been
00:01:16,000 --> 00:01:20,000
a little bit of rotation so that the palm is almost facing me as opposed to it
00:01:20,000 --> 00:01:27,000
pointing straight at my head like so. So with a club you go to that takeaway position and
00:01:27,000 --> 00:01:35,000
then there's that right arm jazzy Jeff move. So here I would do like so. This is the jazzy
00:01:35,000 --> 00:01:41,000
Jeff move. We're kind of like throwing salt over your shoulder. You're going to do that
00:01:41,000 --> 00:01:45,000
one piece take away and then you're going to do that right arm jazzy Jeff move.
00:01:45,000 --> 00:01:52,000
And it helps set the club on the proper plane so that or in the proper position so that
00:01:52,000 --> 00:01:57,000
during transition you'll be able to load your transition move that you've been practicing
00:01:57,000 --> 00:02:01,000
without too much compensation. So that's the right arm jazzy Jeff move for completing the
00:02:01,000 --> 00:02:02,000
back swing.
