Learning to push through the ground through the inside of the trail foot goes a long way towards building a good sequence and setting the body in a position for an effective release. This is easiest to practice on short (9 to 3) swing, so practice it on smaller shots. Learning this move is one of the sure fire ways to prevent a few movements that cause inconsistency down the road.

This next drill is the right foot roll or the right foot banking drill. So this is to put your
00:00:06,000 --> 00:00:11,000
attention into the right foot as you go from impact to follow through because that's a
00:00:11,000 --> 00:00:17,000
easy time while you're doing these small little 9 to 3 and hinge and hold drills that you can
00:00:17,000 --> 00:00:23,000
pay attention to what the right foot is doing at a speed that's more controlled than during the
00:00:23,000 --> 00:00:29,000
full swing. So what you're going to pay attention to is when you go to impact and then you go to
00:00:30,000 --> 00:00:39,000
follow through you'll notice that the right heel is almost rolling in. So the foot will be rolling
00:00:39,000 --> 00:00:46,000
in as opposed to lifting and spinning. Just like there's a sequence to how the wrist move,
00:00:46,000 --> 00:00:51,000
there's actually a sequence that how the foot moves. The first movement it should do is roll and then
00:00:51,000 --> 00:00:58,000
it will push almost like you're standing up like push and then finally after the release after the
00:00:58,000 --> 00:01:04,000
follow through position is when the rotation of the foot actually happens. So you're going to do
00:01:04,000 --> 00:01:09,000
the impact position and then you're going to go to the follow through position and in this follow
00:01:09,000 --> 00:01:14,000
through position you should feel like that right heel is ahead of the right toe.
00:01:15,000 --> 00:01:23,000
One of the big problems that we see a lot with amateur golfers is that foot will lift and spin
00:01:23,000 --> 00:01:28,000
and the problem is that's now going to cause my upper body to want to stand up and it'll mess up
00:01:28,000 --> 00:01:35,000
all these things that we're practicing with the door jam, the impact position and the follow through.
00:01:35,000 --> 00:01:40,000
The other thing is if I'm rolling through the foot I'm actually able to apply pressure into the ground
00:01:40,000 --> 00:01:45,000
or continue to apply pressure into the ground. Once I've gone here I'm actually in a very weak position.
00:01:46,000 --> 00:01:54,000
So I've got that right foot rolling in all the way till the follow through position and then it doesn't
00:01:54,000 --> 00:02:00,000
roll until you go between these two points between the impact and just whatever you do with your finish.
00:02:01,000 --> 00:02:08,000
So again focus in the nine to three drill and as you play on this right foot rolling in as opposed to spinning.
