Spine tilt is going to affect how your arms hang and how your pelvis sets up to the golf swing. As you will see in the backswing section when you get there, your spine changes A LOT during the swing, it doesn’t seem this way but it is true. So setting up the amount of “spine tilt” really just changes the angle of the pelvis and the legs.

00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:04,000
So this drill is called spine side tilt and it's really helping you understand
00:00:05,000 --> 00:00:06,000
the
00:00:06,000 --> 00:00:08,000
call the side of the
00:00:08,000 --> 00:00:14,000
access tilt in the golf swing which is basically if my spine is vertical like so and
00:00:14,000 --> 00:00:18,000
Then I work to tilt my pelvis so that my spine is tilting over here
00:00:18,000 --> 00:00:22,000
Well, that's kind of my side tilt or my axis tilt at setup
00:00:23,000 --> 00:00:29,000
That is going to change a lot through up it also. I mean your spine angles are going to change a lot throughout
00:00:30,000 --> 00:00:36,000
the golf swing. So you may hear that with a driver you need to set up so that you're behind the ball and
00:00:36,000 --> 00:00:40,000
With a wedge you're going to set up so that you're more on top of it and that's true
00:00:40,000 --> 00:00:49,000
But the reason we're doing it is not because of what the spine doing the reason is because we want to get that pelvic tilt or side tilt in a certain orientation
00:00:49,000 --> 00:00:52,000
So if you were to get into your good setup posture
00:00:54,000 --> 00:00:57,000
right with your stance width the hip hinge
00:00:58,000 --> 00:01:03,000
If you were to then shift your hips forward just like so while maintaining the same position with your upper body
00:01:03,000 --> 00:01:10,000
This would be more of the side axis tilt that we'd be looking for for a driver if you were to hinge forward and basically stay
00:01:11,000 --> 00:01:15,000
You know a little bit more on top of the ball. This is what we'd be looking for a
00:01:15,000 --> 00:01:16,000
Iron
00:01:16,000 --> 00:01:19,000
So it's just helping you understand because
00:01:20,000 --> 00:01:25,000
As you'll learn in the back swing video the spine is actually going to side tilt left the entire backswing
00:01:25,000 --> 00:01:29,000
So it doesn't really matter too much how much you tilt it to the right
00:01:29,000 --> 00:01:33,000
At the setup. I know that might sound a little over the head for some of you
00:01:34,000 --> 00:01:39,000
But for some of you it might clear things up that all we're really trying to do is get the right angle with the pelvis
00:01:39,000 --> 00:01:45,000
Once you have that you're going to swing kind of the the way that you're trying to do for that specific shot
00:01:45,000 --> 00:01:50,000
So don't get overly complicated with how much spine tilt you have
00:01:50,000 --> 00:01:54,000
worry more about what the angle of the pelvis is and you'll be better served
