Recommended Mental Game Resources

  By: Nick W on April 24, 2020, 10:06 p.m.

Hello All,
I was thinking about going through some mental game training; Dr Greg Cartin has a program coming up that I was thinking about, which sounded interesting because it has exercises included to go through, but I thought I’d check in with the experts here before investing the time and effort to go though something. I feel like there is a lot of fluff/weak material in thus realm.

Any recommendations?

Nick

+Nick W I'll send out an email to our members about this post. It should be an interesting topic.

When it comes to "mental game", I think there are a lot of useful directions to take. The most common I enjoy are:
1 - Course Management Strategy - deciding which shot to take and how to plan your strategy for each hole
2 - Practice Strategies
3 - Pre-shot, post-shot, execution phases of hitting a shot
4 - Managing emotions

I think anything that helps you address one of those big buckets can be helpful

Nick O’Hern has book about his practice strategies, shot routine. Pretty good.
