Body rotation vs shotput punch

Is the body rotation causing a sling like release as the primary power source or do the arms and chest create the last power move? In other words are the arms passive because they are being slung out by the hip rotation or at some point are you throwing with your arms the shotput move through the strike?

Hi Ron,

I'll do a video on this because I think it's a common question. Activating the body parts in a sequence is one of the keys to power. So the arms aren't completely passive. In that sense, it's similar to throwing a ball. You want the body to act as the engine, but if your wrist was totally pasive in a throw, it wouldn't give you that last speed burst. So I think your second description is more accurate, that at some point, the arms are propelling the club with the help from the body.
Happy Golfing,
Tyler
