Re: Big Pushes w/ Driver

  By: Tyler F on April 24, 2022, 9:17 p.m.

In the little video, you can see the club face more closed in the iron shot compared to the driver. But if you look at the driver, you have so much shaft lean that if you did close the face, you'd have almost no loft. So you're stuck a bit

Also, it…

Re: Left hip issue

Hi Alan,

Welcome to the program. Glad you're enjoying it!

It would be easier to make a guess if you posted a face on video of your swing. You mentioned one in your post, but it looks like it might not have been uploaded. Post it here and we'll hav…

Re: Shaft lean

  By: Tyler F on April 24, 2022, 8:41 p.m.

I think this is a pretty solid stock move. But if you were going to try and get more shaft lean, you'd want to work on the lead shoulder blade pull through impact. If you watch the little clip, you'll see during this phase the lead arm pulls back an…

Re: Trail arm with wedges

  By: Tyler F on April 24, 2022, 8:34 p.m.

Hi Alan,

With the distance wedge, it's hard to make a backswing higher than belly button height without having any trail arm bend. To handle that extra arm bend in the backswing, most golfers will straighten the arm early in the downswing as part …

Re: Swing Plane "over the top" AND Club Path "in to out"???

  By: Tyler F on April 24, 2022, 10:53 a.m.

Thanks for posting the video. I sympathize with the confusion. I'm trying to help reconcile the numbers. I can't quite tell if the camera is off (because of the matt orientation and the black target behind the net). it appears at first that the came…

Re: What's wrong? Besides the fact that I wear slippers and there is no ball? 😁

These pictures show where you "cast" and release the energy of the arms too soon. You can see in the picture that there is very little movement of the hips/legs and most of the movement is happening because of the arms straightening.

Re: Early extension

Definitely improving on the early extension piece. Looks like the left will be fixed by getting the hands more forward but with a bit of ulnar deviation. Hands forward and up is a good thought. Both hands forward and hands up are a face opener. Hand…

Sounds like a plan. Good luck with the journey. Keep us posted on your progress!

Mauro,

To me it looks under powered from the lower body and core. So it probably fits more in the cast pattern rather than the scoop pattern. You don't appear to have the club pass the hands or the arms bend a lot on the way through. But it doesn't…

Re: Swing Plane "over the top" AND Club Path "in to out"???

  By: Tyler F on April 17, 2022, 12:11 p.m.

Hi Bill,

Once you know how to look at your swing on video, you can usually get in the ball park of swing path and direction. Not accurate enough to know the exact number, but at least the general trend. 10 degrees in to out is quite a bit in to ou…

Re: Pulls and early extension and hip slide.

  By: Tyler F on April 11, 2022, 8:38 p.m.

With a miss pattern of pull hooks and topping, I'd start by looking at your impact line. That's where we see a fair amount of lack of shaft lean and too much axis tilt. It doesn't look like a really wristy flip, more of a shoulder pull style release…

Re: What's wrong? Besides the fact that I wear slippers and there is no ball? 😁

Hi Mauro,

It would be interesting to compare this to what you actually do with a golf ball. The reason I say that is that this swing wouldn't work with a driver with a golf ball. The ball would barely get off the ground and go straight right. As y…

Re: trail arm swing

  By: Tyler F on April 11, 2022, 7:20 p.m.

Hi Dan, Face on looks pretty solid too. Great looking impact position! If you want to work on something, then I'd pay attention to how your left arm pulls away from your right hand in transition. That's an indicator of more of a lead arm pull which …

Re: trail arm swing

  By: Tyler F on April 4, 2022, 7:56 p.m.

I actually think that's a pretty good move. I'm impressed that you can do it that wall with the off hand as the trail hand. That's not easy. That said, the reason it looks like you need a lot of wipe is how behind the body the arm gets in the backsw…

Re: Early extension

  By: Tyler F on April 4, 2022, 7:51 p.m.

Hi William,

Yes, I think that because you early extend on the 9-3 as much as you do that your release pattern and either ground contact or club face control pattern is currently tied to your body standing up through impact. So i'd expect that if yo…
